As a family photographer in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas I get to participate in a lot of really cool and fun activities. In May I volunteered to photograph the Upper Merion Area Educational Foundations Annual 5k. The race took place in King of Prussia Pa, which is about 20 minutes away from Philadelphia, so many families came out for a early morning run to support a great foundation! Being a photographer at a event like this is really fun because you get to watch people just relax and have fun and just be themselves no one is posing for the camera so you really get to capture the fun they are having. The picture below really just amazed me take a look at it and you will feel the emotions that I felt when I took it.
How amazing is this little guy!! Such a strong kid he was smiling and having fun the entire time. I was so impressed because as adults we can get into complaining about things or feeling bad about a situation we are in and then you look a little kid who has one leg and he is smiling and I didn’t hear him complain once about the run and it really puts everything into perspective for you.
My husband and I volunteer our time where and when we can and we are trying to pass that onto our children as well. Our youngest daughter ran in the race and then after her race she joined our oldest daughter who was volunteering for the run and they helped out all morning where need. Here are a few of my favorite images from the morning I hope that you like them and if you do please feel free to leave some love in the comments field it would really make my day!
